Abstract

Resistance to antibiotics has evolved due to misuse in clinical treatment. This resistance now represents a serious threat to effective treatment. So society as a whole must pay for development of new antibiotic to keep pace with continually evolving pathogens so the current research aims to treatment of bacterial resistant to antibiotics by using of antiserum to achieve this goal the following has been done:1- E. coli isolates obtained from different sources were resistant to β-lactams in addition to other drugs by disk diffusion sensitivity test.2- The TEM β-lactamases from blaTEM E. coli isolate was purified by lysozyme based method.3- The TEM β-lactamase extracted from standard isolate of in addition to standard TEM enzyme were subjected to sodium dodecycle sulfate gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) for their purity assessment and determination of their molecular weights. The protein content of the purified enzyme was determined by spectrophotometer.4- Polyclonal anti-TEM β-lactamase antibodies could be produced in immunized rabbits.5- Anti-TEM β-lactamase antibodies had the ability to combine with the extracted TEM β-lactamase through ELISA technique.6- Exposure of 10 resistant E. coli isolates to β-lactams and other drugs under the effect of anti β-lactamase sera through broth.
