Abstract

The prevalence of RV involvement in left ventricular (LV) inferior and anterior acute MI has ranged from 50% to 80% in post- mortem and animal studies .Isolated or predominant RV infarction also has been reported. RV involvement in anterior acute MI frequently are not detected in the clinical setting. This difficulty with detection may explain underestimation of the prevalence of RV involvement RV involvement, however, can result in hemodynamic instability, atrioventricular conduction delay, and increased in-hospital mortality Thirty patients with acute ST elevation myocardial infarction without right ventricular infarction who underwent successful primary percutaneous coronary intervention will undergo tissue doppler study (72hs after primary PCI) for right ventricular function evaluation and another ten normal subject matched age and sex as control group. The aim of these study is to asses right ventricular function in patient presented with acute myocardial infarction (except right ventricular infarction) who had been treated with successful primary Percutaneous coronary Intervention (PPCI).
