Abstract The present work was performed to evaluate the effect of oral administration of aldosterone receptor blocker (spironolactone) on some signs of metabolic syndrome . In this study we used thirty (30) male albino rats, were divided into three groups as the following: 1-Control group: formed of 10 rats and they received normal chow diet for 60 days. 2-High fructose diet (HFD) group : formed of 10 rats and they received chow with 60% fructose diet for 60 days to induce metabolic syndrome. 3-Spironolactone treated group: formed of 10 rats and they received as chow with 60% fructose diet (HFD) and spironolactone administered in a dose of 20 mg/kg/day by gastric gavage for 60 days. |
