Abstract The aim of the current study was to assess the effects of rest during pregnancy for reducing pre-eclampsia and its complications among women with normal blood pressure. The design of this study was quasi-expermental. The sample was non probability (convenient) sample consisting of (200) women who had normal blood pressure. The inclusion criteria were Nulliparous women, Gestational Age 20 – 37 GA, Normal blood pressure and Single tone pregnancy. The sample was divided into two groups: study group (100) women, control group (100) women. Tools of this study an interview questionnaire form. The findings revealed that there was a statistically significant reduction in the relative risk of pre-eclampsia with rest per day. The result support the hypothesis that Women who follow regular rest period at home in left lateral recumbent position for 4 hours daily will show lower incidence of preeclampsia than those are not. It is recommendation that findings from this study could serve as a base line for further interventional studies regarding prevention of preeclampsia. |
