Abstract

Several mobile device manufacturers have adopted Android as their platform offered for software developers. This fact makes Android a natural choice for the present application. In addition to cryptographic strength, things to be considered when developing this type of application for mobile devices are, limitations in memory size and speed of process. The Blowfish and DES algorithms are well suited for encryption of this type of data. The proposal of the program is to transmit encrypted messages and multimedia files via mobile networks or internet as an alternative mean. Utilizing internet takes place through a secured hosting website with a user name and a password integrated in the program. To maintain intensive security, the program uses a hybrid encryption algorithm based on Blowfish and DES encryption to increase security. Moreover, it uses a private key encrypts the files and another private key encrypts file name. For more secure, login screen which runs a program with a password embedded in the program, and it is private for each user.
