Abstract The present thesis was conducted to evaluate through a controlled vaccination study with artificial challenge the protective value of a prepared Clostridium perfringens type ”A” and type ”C” toxoid vaccine in conferring protective immunity against necrotic enteritis (NE) in breeder chickens and their progeny. The protective value of the prepared vaccine was assessed by measuring antibody titers in sera of vaccinated breeders after vaccination and post challenge by ELISA test and by scoring lesion scores after challenge, while in progenyone day oldantibody titer levels and body weight and different interval were evaluated. Result of this study revealed the opportunities of controlling NE in poultry farms by vaccination. This result revealed that better resultsas measured by lesion scorewas found in group of breeders had taken two doses of the prepared vaccine, while the best body weight gain was found in broiler derived from breeders taken two doses of prepared vaccine. |
