Abstract

The proposed system is based on two-dimensional (2D) chaotic map for diffusion process (Henon chaotic map) which gives higher levels of security to the encrypted image. The confusion is performed by the Standard chaotic map. The security analysis of the proposed system showed that the mixture application of chaotic maps has advantages of having large key space and high-level security. The cipher image generated by this cryptosystem is the same size as the plain image size and is suitable for practical use in the secure transmission of confidential information over the Internet. The experimental results of the algorithm on different images proved the effectiveness of the proposed cryptosystem. Secondly, we introduce a modification for the Standard chaotic map with the aim to enhance its security. A comparison between the Standard map and the proposed modification is held based on statistical measures (correlation coefficients), differential measures (NPCR and UACI), noise analysis (PSNR) and Information entropy. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can successfully encrypt/decrypt images with the same secret keys with good encryption effect (robust against statistical attack, differential attack and noise analysis.
