Abstract

In recent years, biodynamic agriculture is practiced as an alternative to conventional agriculture in many areas around the world. It reflect a desire to improve the healthiness of produce, which is believed to occur through harnessing biological processes and eliminating use of pesticides, herbicides, synthetic veterinary medicines and readily soluble fertilizers. The idea is the activation of soil life. In this thesis, I tried to focus on the beneficial environmental effects of biodynamic agriculture, including: changes to soil physical, biological and chemical properties; recycling organic wastes; reduced use of synthetic chemicals, improvements to soil quality, and ecological benefits. I tried also to shed some light on the major advantage of organic farming and their potential to eliminate some of the adverse environmental effects of conventional farming where under conventional farming practices, many soil physical properties can become severely degraded.Little is known about the influence of biodynamic agricultural system on soil microarthropods.
