Abstract
Quantitative knowledge on the use of aquatic insects as bio indicators has not been elucidated in Egypt. Given these concerns, the goal of this study was to provide the first comprehensive analysis of aquatic insect diversity and its use as biotic indices for evaluating water quality in El-Kassed stream in Tanta city and Rasheed stream in Kafr el-Zayat (El Gharbia governorate), and a fish aqua culture in Kafr el Sheikh Governorate. The study was carried out for a period of one year on monthly basis during summer and autumn 2010 and winter and spring 2011.
