Abstract A total of 36 apparently healthy balady hens of twenty one days old weighting (1000 - 1100 g) were obtained from a local poultry farm (Association of Adleya) which located in Belbais, Sharkia Governorate . Food and water were given ad-libitum. Continuous lighting was provided throughout the experiment. Hens were divided into four groups as follows: - First group : fed normal ration and kept as control group. -Second group: fed normal ration mixed with 0.24 ml propiconazole / kg ration, for 15 days. -Third group: fed normal ration mixed with 2.5 mg diniconazole/ kg ration for 15 days. -Fourth group: fed normal ration mixed with propiconazole and diniconazole at doses previously mentioned for 15 days. The present study conducted to explore the toxic effects of propiconazole and diniconazole either individually or in combination on hen after their addition on its food with regard to its effects on food consumption, body and liver weight, DNA damage by (Comet assay in the liver and detection of serum 8-hydroxy-2\-deoxyguanosine(8OH2\dG ), oxidative stress, biochemical analysis of serum T3, T4 and cholesterol and histopathological studies of the liver. I. The effect on food consumption The recorded data clearly demonstrated a decrease in the mean of food consumption weight ( kilogram ) in hens treated with propiconazole. |
