Abstract Amblyopia is a common disorder of the visual system without any structural anomaly. Anisometropic amblyopia is a difficult type of amblyopia to be diagnosed, since the sound eye overlaps the visual defect of the amblyopic eye. Our study was conducted along 6 month on the patients attended the out patient clinic with the age from 5 to 15 years. All patients underwent the following: A: A structural questionnaire was planned to fulfill the following data: Age. Gender. History of spectacle correction, occlusion or penalization therapy. History of previous ocular surgery, ocular trauma. B: Ocular examination Monocular examinations, testing the right eye first. Uncorrected visual acuity and BCVA. Cycloplegic refraction was performed after application of 1% cyclopentolate eye drops. Examination of the external eye. Fundus examination. 510 patients were included in our study 472 were normal 38 were amblyope 26 have anisometropic amblyopia and 12 have strabismic amblyopia. |
