Abstract The increasing use of these plant promotors in agriculture making it as an interesting subject to investigate its possible adverse effects on human health. So the present study was conducted to investigate the possible harmful effects of some plant growth promotors on several biochemical blood parameters including immune response, electrolytes balance, sexual hormones, antioxidant status and some renal function in male and female rats. Hundred rats (50 males and 50 females) Sprague-Dowely rats, 6 4 weeks old, weighing 120-190 grams were used in the experimental investigation of this study. Rats were housed in special laboratory animals room in Biochemistry Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Moshtohor) in separate stainless-steel cages, rats were kept at constant environmental and nutritional conditions throughout the period of experiment. All animals were acclimatized for minimum period of two weeks previous to the beginning of study. Fresh and clean drinking water was supplied ad-libitum. Chemical used and dosages Gibberellic Acid, (GA3 10%),[Berelex] ,® , Auxin, 7.3mg/l[Kelpak]® and Ethephon (2-chloroethylphosphonic acid), Sunphon ® 48% All chemicals were freshly dissolved in distilled water and administrated to rats at a dose level of (100 mg/kg B.W) intra-peritoneal injection at twice time a week. |
