Abstract

Craniofacial anomalies encompasses all congenital deformities of the cranium and face. It is a major neonatal problem affect physical, social and psychological life of the child and parents.
The prevalence of CFA in the current study was 0.24% . 12 cases
of CFAs out of 5000 child in our health centre. The most common C.A
observed in our study was (Microcephaly) represent 58.3%, (Mongolism)
16.7%, (Macrocephaly) 16.7%,and (Cleft lip) represent 8.3% of cases .
Mothers of patients and control group were be subjected to modified
KID screen questionnaire to show effect of these anomalies on QOL of
these children’s.
The most common risk factors founded for these anomalies was
vitamins and folic acid deficiency in early months of pregnancy, positive
consanguinity and smoking exposure. These anomalies affect QOL of
children and their families.
