Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the
effect of some materials on the healing process of an
experimentally induced right femur fractures in dogs fixed
with Ender’s nail (E ). The present work conducted on
twenty apparently healthy male mongrel dogs divided into
four groups, each of 5 dogs. group (I) left as a control.
Groups (II and III) were treated with iliac crest autologus
bone graft (IeBG) and Hydroxyapatite (H.A) respectively,
while group (IV) treated with iliac crest autologus bone graft
along with Hydroxyapatite. Clinical, radiographical and
histological examinations were carried out for assessment of
the healing process. The study showed that iliac crest
autologus bone graft along with Hydroxyapatite. provides
the best results among all groups of this study.
