Abstract This study aimed to assess the factors that may affect family planning client’s satisfaction in family planning clinics in Port Said city. A cross sectional descriptive survey design included two main convenient samples were recruited in the study, the family planning nurses (22) and clients attending these clinics (242) .: The study was carried out at twelve family planning clinics representing the six districts of Port- said. The data were collected through the period of five months. The researcher used a semi structured interviewing approach to collect data by using three tools: 1- Modified Nurse’s Practice Observational checklist, 2-Modified Observational checklist to measure the quality of family planning services and 3-Modified Client Satisfaction Scale. The results revealed that the mean percentage of the quality level varied between 88.89% and 100 %. The mean percentage of the nurse’s practices was 87.54%. Statistically significant difference correlation was found between quality of family planning counseling of nurses practice and their time of training, The study results also revealed that the mean percentage of the client’s 95.4% were satisfied with family planning services. Providers of the services were considered the most effective factor in client satisfaction 76.91%, and then the provided services to the client’s 49.14%. Based on the results, it is concluded that: time of training affects quality of family planning counseling of nurse’s practice, providers of the services and the provided services affect the client satisfaction. It can be recommended that the nurses need continuous retraining to keep up to date for effective counseling and to improve their practices, regular group education for clients should be demonstrated. Make referral places for clients and ensure that they know exactly where and when to go and give them clear directions. |
