Abstract
Correction of Class II malocclusion in growing children
represents one of the challenging tasks in orthodontics,
especially in cases where no extraction was planned, where it
relies heavily on patient compliance.
A non-compliant treatment protocol was presented in this
study aiming at inducing a distalizing effect on the whole
maxillary arch. The anchorage units were represented by 2 miniimplants
placed in the zygomatic buttress. The sample
comprised 10 treated and 10 control growing female Class II
subjects with an age range of 10-12 years. The follow up period
was 6 months where cone beam C.T.s were used to assess the
skeletal and dental changes of the treated and control subjects.
