Abstract

Energy is an essential matter for development and progress, one of the most important devices which deal with energy are air conditioning systems as an essential purpose in these hot days. Evaporative condenser, are widely used in industry. Recent statistics reveal that refrigeration technology, mainly refrigerating systems using mechanical vapor compression, represents about 15% of the worldwide consumed electricity. Thus, energy saving and environmentally friendly systems in this sector are more than ever, in the center of political, economic and industrial concerns. This study aims to increasing the performance of air conditioning system. This action was done by cold water spray into the condenser cooling air to reduce the condensing temperature and hence reducing the compressor power which led to increasing the coefficient of cycle performance. The new in this study is to get the cold sprayed water from the cold conditioned space (bled water) without any external source. This study was performed for cold bled water mass flow of 0.012 mb 0.029 kg/s, the inside conditioned space temperatures are 18 oC, 20 oC, 22 oC, and 24 oC (conditioned space) while the outside temperature are 27 oC, 28 oC , 29 oC,30 oC, 31 oC, 32 oC, 33 oC, and 34 oC (summer outside condition). This thesis contains five chapters, the first chapter is for introduction, the second chapter provides a literature review of previous research, the third chapter is test proceeding and describes the apparatus used for the experiments, the fourth chapter is presentation of the experimental results and their analysis. The last chapter is the conclusion and recommendation for the future work.
