Abstract
A descriptive explorative survey study design was utilized to assess self-care management for patients with COPD and identify factors affecting self care among those patients.
the atudy was conducted at chest department, suez canal university hospital, A sample convencies of 60 adult patients, male and female were recruiteed for the study.
an interview sheet was used as tool to collect data it is consists of two main parts : the first part is related to background data (Socio demographic data and medical data), and the second part is related to elements of self-care and other variables.
the results showed that, more than half of the study subjects were in adulthood stage (over 40) males , married and coming from urban areas.
