Abstract
The majority of adult Population spend at least a third of their day at work.That is why the nature of Occupation and the occupational environment are major factors in determining the state of health of the individual and of the community

Occupation may have a direct health effect due to presenece of Specific hazards that may result in certain occupational diseases, or it may have a generaj influence on health through specific or traditional variations in the Social environment and life style including smoking and other habits Moreover , an occupation may reflect differences in Social origin , geography
and education may result in differences in income , wealth

Measurements of mortality is widely used as an indicator of community health and may be of great value in discovering the hazards of occupation and comparison of the trends over the years
may be used in assessing the effect of preventive measures and/or

technological advances adopted by the community
since 1963 classification of deaths according to occupation for all the Population appeared in Official books of vital statistics.
Study of occupational mortality as a measure of community health and to throw some light on health conditions of different occupations in EGYPTIAN population.
