Abstract This cross sectional study was selected from police soliders in the period from January to October 2012 . 100 subjects participated in this study.in the period of age ranges between 18 – 28 years old from all over the Arab Republic of Egypt . This study aimed to detect the normal pattern of Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR) in relation to the Waist Circumference (WC) and Body Mass Index (BMI) among a sample of normal adults in soliders of the Egyptian ministry of interior . The results of this study revealed apositive correlation between PEFR and age at this period of age and this can be referred to the efficiency of the respiratory system at this period of age . positive correlation between PEFR and BMI and more significant positive correlation between PEFR and WC and this can be referred to the nature of body composition of these soliders at this time in which the muscular mass overcomes the fatty mass . from this study, it is concluded that Age, and WC are better predictors of PEFR than BMI . |
