Abstract Successful program of management can be considered as applicable methods, when encouraging the bird to display freely their normal and sound behavior patterns. Which inturn will be represented by the high level of homeostatic mechanism in the internal environment of the bird, which will be reflected as successful I performance according to the genetic make-up of the bird. To explain the above, the following two experiments were done. The first experiment was planned to explain the effect of different stocking rate on the behavior patterns and performance of the birds. This was done by using 125 days old chicks divided randomly to five groups; each one have different stocking density. They were reared from day old till end of six weeks. Different behaviour patterns were recorded and other performance criteria as body weight, body gain, food consumption and feed conversion were also recorded weekly. The second experiment were done to reveal the suitable light envirnoment, which initiate the genetic force of the bird to explore their self in the form of high body gain. 125 day old chicks were used and divided randomly to five groups each group was exposed to continuous colored light environment (red, green, blue, yellow and white). The behaviour patterns displayed by each group were recorded weekly and other performance criteria were also recorded. Physical environment which fulfill ethiological needs of the birds during the first week of life will reflect lastly on the body gain of the bird. Also, the ethological needs of the birds could be mitigated by choice of yellow light environment through the early life of the day old chicks. This will be reflected lastly on body gain. Also, floor space especially at the last week is essential for both the ethiological and body needs, as high stocking rate will reveal low body gain, high food consumption and low feed conversion. Addition of perches will relief the social stress resulted from decreased floor area. |
