المستخلص Owing to the increasing importance of hormonal residues and its public health importance, the present study was planned out to study the hormonal residues in imported and local meat and chicken. The examined samples were 30 samples of local beef, 30 samples of imported beef, local chicken samples (30 fat, 30 skin, 30 muscles, 10 liver and 10 kidney samples) and 30 imported chicken samples for estradiol residues by using RIA and TLC methods. The present results revealed that the estradiol residues could not be detected in the examined samples either local or imported, and this indicates that strict control measures were applied on the feed, drugs and methods of production of the meat producing animals, also imported meat was exposed to thorough routine hormonal examination. The public health significance of estradiol residues as well as recommendations concerned with production of meat and chickens were also discussed. |
