Abstract Thethesis comprises three chapters: ChapterI. Introduction. Dealswith a literature survey on the coordination chemistry, catalytic, electrochemical, analytical applications of ferrocene derivativesand their Schiff bases. ChapterD. Materials and methods : Includes the methods of synthesis of the acetyl ferrocene derivativesand their complexes, the different techniques and instrumentsused to characterize and study the chemical and physicalproperties of the isolated compounds such as: the IR, UVjvis.NMR and ErR spectra, magnetic susceptibility, and cyclic voltammetrymeasurements. ChapterID. Results and discussion : This chapter deals with the results obtained for the organic Schiff-bases and their copper (11)complexes as well as their discussion. The spectral studies OR,1H NMRand UV) in addition to the elementalanalysis showed that acetyl ferrocene reacts with aroyl hydrazine(benzoyl hydrazine, 2- chlorobenzoyl hydrazine, 4- chlorobenzoylhydrazine, 2- nitro benzoyl hydrazine, 4- nitro benzoylhydrazine, 4- hydroxybenzoyl hydrazine. 4- methyl benzoylhydrazine and nicotinoyl hydrazine) forming Schiff bases •. !J..L /y W”” I y .•. ,.. 8, J. 1. |
