Abstract The present study included fifty five subjects, forty patients with liver cirrhosis and fifteen apparently healthy subjects. Cirrhotic patients are divided into 2 groups, group I ( decompansated liver cirrhosis group), group II (compansated liver cirrhosis group ). All patients and control were subjected to: Random blood glucose ,Kidney function tests, Liver function tests,Complete blood count,Prothrombin time ,Activated partial thromboplastin time ,Special investigations including Factor VIl, Fibrinogen, D-dimer. The results of this study were summarized as follows: Prothrombin conc was significantly decreased in group І when compared with group П and group III.Fibrinogen , FVII were significantly decreased in group I when compared with group II and group III. D-dimer was significantly increased in group І when compared with group П and group III . This study revealed :-There is a state of hyperfibrinolysis in decompansated cirrhosis , either primary or secondary to a low grade DIC or a hypercoagulable state.-There is strong relationship between hyperfibrinolysis and indices of liver synthetic function either routine tests ( PT, APTT) or F VII and fibrinogen. This may be due to consumption of factors or the anticoagulant effect of FDPs (as regards PT and APTT). |
