Abstract The main use of robots today are in the manufacturing industry. Most industrial robots are designed to replace human works in unpleasant or too precise jobs. The design of robots is an especially challenging task for mechanical design engineers. Robots are multiple function machines. The variability of their function and the need for programmability makes it a challenge to define a unique set of specifications that the engineer can comfortably consider adequate for the final design. The aim of this thesis is to design a mechanical robot with three degrees of freedom and to manufacture it. The work is extended to the control of the movement of the simplest methods, bearing in mind to preserve the basic characteristics found in advanced and complicated industrial robots. The thesis specially tries to confirm the ability and efficiency of using personal computer in all steps of designing and operating of advanced industrial machines such as robots Evaluation of the designed arm is also considered. |
