Abstract Two field experiments were carried out during the two successive summer seasons of 2010 and 2011 in a private farm at Abwan village, Matay District, Minia Governorate, Egypt. Certified seed tubers of two potato cultivars (Burren and Lady Rosetta) were obtained from the Potato Producers’ Co-Operative Society, Minia Governorate and selected for these studies. Cv. ”Burren” was chosen as a cooking cultivar, whereas, Cv. ”Lady Rosetta” is mostly used as a processing cultivar. The two experiments aimed to study the effect of four rates of ordinary superphosphate i.e. 00.0, 45.0, 60.0 and 75.0 kg P2O5/fed and/or two treatments of phosphorien i.e., uninoculated (control), or inoculated with 4.0L/fed phosphorien and/or four levels of humic acid i.e., 0.0, 4.0, 6.0 and 8.0 L/fed. The combinations of the three factors and their levels were thirty two treatments applied on each experiment to study their effects, on growth, total yield and yield components of each potato cultivars, separately. from the obtained results on Cvs. Burren and Lady Rosetta, application of 45 kg P2O5/fed + phosphorien inoculation + 6 L/HA/fed showed the highest significant increases in the most growth characters and total yield as well as its component. Therefore this treatment could be recommended under quite similar environmental conditions as that of Minia Governorate, Egypt. |
