Abstract

In this study, adults of Echinostoma senegalensis Ahmed, 1994 were collected from the rectum of Senegal coucal, Centropus senegalensis. The specimens were examined by light microscope and studied morphologically. They were found to possess a collar with 32spines. The surface ultrastructures of the tegument and collar were examined by scanning electron microscope. Both light and scanning electron microscope studies were consistent and confirmed the taxonomic status of E. senegalensis as a unique species with even number of collar spines. In the same study, four closely similar isolates of cyclocoelid trematodes were isolated from the air sacs of the common moorhen, Gallinula chloropus, from Sharkia province, Egypt
