Abstract The present study was carried out in the pediatrics and parasitology Departments, Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University. In an attempt to understand the relationship between the schistosomiasis and hepatitis B infection as causative agents of liver affection in children in Sharkia Governorate. The study was conducted on (516) children from Eikhawa Village primary school (60 kilometer from Zagazig City). (50) children were proved to be infected with schistosomiasis and (40) with other parasite. The fifty children infected with schistosomiasis, are of both sexes (40 males and 10 females) aged from (9) to (11) years old are compared with twenty normal healthy and parasit free children of the same age acting as a control group. All children were subjected tor- 1. Complete history taking. 2. Full clinical examination. 3. Liver function tests. 4. Urine and stool examination. 5. Complete blood picture. 6,. Serological testes for detection of anti-Schistosoma IgG using ELISA and detection ofHBsAg by using commercially avialble ELISA Kit. |
