Abstract This study deals with the proper choice of a polymer and waxes mixture to achieve high fidelity of surface replication. The study includes, celluioseacetate, vinyle acetate, self-curing acrylic, hydro-carbon resin, epoxy resin, polyurethane, polyvinyl coloride, polyvinyle alchole, ketonic resin, polymer of some aldhyds and cyclized urea, polyethylene wax S-wax with different concentration. The specimens are machined with wide range of turning cutting conditions to produce surfaces with different topography. The results showed that self-curing acrylic , cellulose acetate and epoxy resin generally give better fidelity with reasonable cost. However , for certain cutting conditions, the study suggests the proper material with a specified concentration. |
