Abstract The objective of the present study has been to improve the medicinal values of fenugreek and tomato seedlings by subjecting them to heat stress. The antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-tumor activities of treated extracts (heat stressed seedlings) were evaluated comparing to control (non heat stressed seedlings) as well as measuring their protective efficacy in mice and tomato seedlings against microbial infection challenge after pretreatment with investigated extracts. 1- Effect of heat stress on fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graceum) and tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) seedlings. Fenugreek and tomato seeds were grown until seedling stage then subjected to heat stress (401 45°C) for 4 or 8 h, and then stressed seedlings were harvested after 0 (immediately), 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 h. Some Physical changes and biochemical analysis were recorded to study the effect of heat stress on seedlings stage. |
