Abstract The global trend in the last few years moves towards the clean power resources; due to the rapid increase of side effects of environmental pollution problems, such as global warming and ozone destruction. The transportation sector is charged as a major contributor of the world pollution. It is important to introduce a clean alternative power sources for transp?rtation to reduce the environmental pollution. The transition from the Internal Combustion Engine to electric propulsion system as the prime mover for vehicles is a solution to reduce the noise and pollution caused by the transportation vehicles. In this thesis, a simplified mathematical model is developed for a proton exchange membrane fuel cell systems as a promising type of renewable energy sources. This model is validated and tested under different operating conditions. Then the developed model is rescaled and used for a fuel cell electric vehicle ”FCEV” model. This model will be useful for analysing the performance ofFCEV under different operating conditions. |
