Abstract This study investigates the possibility of predicting waltmg time in queue in a multi-stage, multi-processor service system with stochastic inputs, and finds effective working times for the system and processors at each stage. Two different approaches are considered to treat the study. First, mathematical models are developed for a multi-stage, multi-processor service system that serves stochastic inputs, and are applied to the solver LINGO 13 for solution. These models could be used to predict the total system time and the number of required processors in each stage. Second, Simulation models are presented to study the system under different scenarios. ARENA(Q simulation software is used to implement the Simulation experiments which are conducted in order to examine the effects of model parameters. |
