Abstract

The role of Laryngopharyngeal reflux in minor associated pathological lesions of the larynx has a great controversy. In this study we review systematically the published studies linking between LPR and MAPLs, attempting to answer question:
Does laryngopharyngeal reflux have a role in minor associated pathological lesions of the larynx?
The study was conducted to review the English language literatures, in order to identify evidence that fulfilled inclusion and exclusion criteria.. We identified only 5 studies that reported on relationship between LPR and MAPLs and fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria.
As, there was no available randomized control trial. So, we pooling data to answer our question; does LPR have a role in MAPLS?
The results of this study showed a role of LPR in Rienke’s edema, vocal fold nodule and vocal fold polyp.
