Abstract The present studies were carried out in the experimental farm belonging to the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University to evaluate the population density of the common mealybug species attacking mandarin trees Citrus reticulate, guava trees Psidium guajava L. , Persimmon trees Diospyros kaki L. , ficus trees Ficus nitida L. and hibiscus plants Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L. and their associated insect predators during the two successive years 2010/11 and 2011/12. No insecticides were applied during the two years of investigation. Also, laboratory experiments were carried out to study the influence of different constant temperature and different mealybug species as preys on the biological aspects of the coccinellid predator Rodolia cardinalis Mulsant under three constant temperature degrees of 20±1˚c , 24±1˚c and 28±1˚c. |
