Abstract

Effective chemigation management require a highly qualitative database to realize the maximization profits of either yield production and attributed quality parameter or conserving agric–physical resources for sustainable agriculture; and minimization of potential negative impacts on either irrigation system efficiency or environmental and humans hazardous. br Existing knowledge base and database have to be better handled to more intelligently effective management of either chemigation technology or systems. However, Expert Systems (ES) programs had been designed to solve problems -#119;-#104;-#101;-#114;-#101; conventional decision making approaches proved to be effective are excessively time consuming as a problem characterized by fuzzy data and information and -#119;-#104;-#101;-#114;-#101; even the rules to be applied are not well defined, such as the above-mentioned chemigation problem. br Hereby the aim of this investigation was to build, verify and validate a proto type-rule based expert system for managing chemigation technology and system under arid and semi-arid ecosystem conditions of Egypt. br Processes of defining and identifying of the dynamic network structure which involves field data and information analysis and finding of the appropriate decision making process and activities related to the application priorities of chemigation technology and systems under extreme field resources had been used for building the suggested rule-based expert system (CHEMIGAT-ES).Information analysis is based on the principles of information engineering used together with the agriculture references information models for chemigated farming. A dynamic network is characterized by inherent uncertainty. Specifying nodes and dependencies in the model and a quantitative step which specifying conditional probabilities. Based on these information model, building network blocks of the dynamic network model are set up as a random variables ranging over possible states, observations, actions relations between these criteria variables parameters factors and indices. A dynamic rule based expert system, which noted CHEMIGAT-ES had been developed and evaluated for effective management of either chemigation technology or system under Egyptian agricultural condition. br Results of the validation processes of the developed expert system can be summarized as follows: br * CHEMIGATES output data analyses revealed that either pressure differential tank or venturi had to be applied with mini sprinkler and low-head-gravity flow bubbler with highly restriction and limitations in -#111;-#114;-#100;-#101;-#114; to avoid the reducing of chemigated technology efficiencies. br * Statistical analysis of the CHEMIGAT-ES outputs and measured data of the effective engineering chemigation technology management indicated that r2 are 0.8441, 0.9002 and 0.9501 for pressure differential tank, venturi devices and positive displacement pump respectively. br *The observed validation equations that had been used for feedback processing of the developed expert system (CHEMIGAT-ES) can be categorized as following: br Chemigation br equipment observed equation br Pressure differential br Tank ymeasured = --0.0014x2 + 0.1973x - 0.30144 br yestimated = --0.0014x2 + 0.2053x - 1.0467 br Venturi ymeasured = -9E-05x2 + 7.4694x - 150764 br yestimated = -9E-05x2 + 7.4694x - 150764 br Positive displacement br Pump ymeasured = -0.0002x2 + 0.0468x + 0.764 br yestimated = -0.0002x2 + 0.0468x + 0.514 br * New scientific addition, which had been observed -#102;-#114;-#111;-#109; this Ph.D. dissertation: The developed expert system, which noted as CHEMIGAT-ES plays a crucial role in the era of effective engineering management of either chemigation technology or systems under Egyptian conditions in -#111;-#114;-#100;-#101;-#114; to maximize the water and fertilizer use efficiencies and conserve the agricultural environment.
