Abstract Patients with mitral valve prolapse have a wide variety of ECO abnormalities. Kreisrnan et al. (1971) had shown that these abnormalities include U waves, ST segment, the T wave, prolonged UT interval, prominent U wave, conduction abnormalities and various arrythemias. Several studies had documented an increase in these arrythemias during exercise testing (Gooch et al., 1972 and Solman et al., 1972). The significance of UT changes lies in the relation of the UT interval to ventri cular recovery time and so prolongation of the UT interval may favour ventricular arrythemia (Hiroshi et al., 1986) and occurance of torsade de point which may he one of the mechanisms of sudden death (Campell et al., 1976). The aim of the present study was to examine the UTc interval in patients with M\JP in the resting state. Also, this study was aiming to evaluate if there would be a change in UTc interval if the heart rate of MUP patient is accelerated by subjection to exercise. |
