Abstract This work was executed during two successive seasons of 2008 /2009 in the Nursery and Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University. The aim of this study was to investigate the response of vegetative and root growth, fruit yield and chemical composition of jojoba plants to four levels of FYM (0, 125, 250 and 500 g / pot) and nine fertilization treatments i.e. control, phosphorein, Minia Azotein, E.M., phosphorein + Minis Azotein, phosphorein + E.M., phosphorein + Minia Azotein+ E.M., phosphorein + Minia Azotein + E.M. + 75 % NPK and mineral NPK (100%), as well as, the interaction between them. The obtained results could be summarized as follows: 1- Effect of Farmyard manure on: 1-A- Vegetative and root growth traits: All plant growth traits of jojoba plants, namely, plant height, main stem diameter, number of branches / plant, leaf area, leaves fresh and dry weights / plant, branches fresh and dry weights / plant, shoots fresh and dry weights / plant, length of the main root, fresh and dry weight of roots / plant and shoot / root ratio significantly promoted by fertilizing jojoba plants with FYM at 125, 250 and 500 g / pot. compared with unfertilized control plants. The increment in vegetative growth aspects was parallel with the gradual increase in FYM level; therefore, high level of FYM at (500 g/pot) was the most effective treatment. |
