Abstract This thesis continues a line of investigation in the literature concerning specific known kinds of mappings of rings. Such mappings satisfy certain combinations of elements in rings, for example, derivations, generalized derivations and generalized (, )-derivations. We study the effect of generalized derivations and generalized (, )-derivations which satisfy some conditions on some appropriate subsets of a prime ring. We are interested to concern the relationship between the commutativity of prime rings and the existence of certain specific types of maps. We investigate the commutativity of prime rings admitting generalized derivations that are strong commutativity preserving (scp) on some appropriate subsets of the rings. And also, we extend well-known results for generalized (, )- derivations on Jordan ideals in prime rings |
