Abstract The present study was conducted during 2005-2008 summer seasons to study the nature of inheritance of maize resistance to Fusarium ear rot (FER) disease caused by Fusarium verticillioides (Sacc) Nirenberg. (synonym:F.moniliforme J. Sheld). One hundred inbred lines were artificially infected in 2005 season and based on the clear differences in their reaction, ten inbred lines were chosen to perform this study. Half diallel mating design was done among the chosen ten lines in 2006 and 2007. Parents and 45 F1′s were evaluated in two trials one under fully protected conditions and one under artificial infection conditions at two locations, viz Sakha and Nubaria Res. Stat. of the FCRI |
