Abstract
Early pregnancy failure is a common phenomenon. Misoprostol has widely been used for medical abortion. The study involved 50 women divided into 2 groups; group 1: received 600µg single dose of misoprostol vaginally and group 2: received 200µg misoprostol orally/8 hrs for a maximum of 7 days. No significant differences were detected between the two groups regarding the complete miscarriage rate (76% vs 75%, respectively). Surgical evacuation was done in 12 women; two for severe bleeding, six for incomplete evacuation and four women for treatment failure on day seven
