Abstract

Multiple sclerosis is considered a chronic persistent disease in which the clinical, neuroimaging and therapeutic research is advanced very rapidly.Although the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis is still based on clinical findings, magnetic resonance imaging is now integrated in the overall diagnostic scheme of the disease. This study aimed at studying the role of different MR sequences as well as magnetic resonance spectroscopy in diagnosis of multiple sclerosis .Our study included 25 patients clinically diagnosed as multiple sclerosis patients; 20 of them were of relapsing-remitting MS and 5 of them were of secondary-progressive MS. 11 of them were males and 14 of them were females with their ages ranged from 15 to 51 years with a mean of 35 years.
