Abstract mean free path Aexp equals to 9. 12±0 .12 cm corresponding to a reaction cross- section (Jexp = 1374±37 mb. This (Jexp value is found to be in consistent with the calculated ones which are based on geometrical consideration. All the fragments emitted within the forward narrow cone and going for a few centimeters without appreciable energy losses are considered as projectile fragments (PF’s). The delta-ray counting method was used to identify the charge Z of each of these PF’s. The fragmentation topology for 28Si induced interactions at 3.7A GeV are presented and compared with those obtained for the interactions with emulsion nuclei of 14.6A GeV 28Si . A study also was done to examine the effect of the projectile ize on the multiplicity characteristics of the pions emitted in the forward (FHS) and backward (BHS) directions. In this study it is found that the projectile mass is the main parameters participating in the production process of those forward emitted pions, on the other hand it is found that the multiplicity of the backward emitted pions exhibits a universality in their behavior, independent of the projectile size and may give a good prediction with the modified cascade model (MCM). The separation of the statistical events into groups, according to the target nuclei (H, eNO,and AgBr ), can be made by Florian’s |
