Abstract
Gamma rays are form of radiotherapy in which high-energy photons are emitted from an isotope source (Cobalt 60) producing ionization and damage to the DNA and other cellular structures. It is an essential therapeutic modality in the management of a wide variety of tumors, but its immediate and late side effects on the normal tissues limit the effectiveness of the therapy. So, !pis work was done aiming to study the early and late changes that occur ill the testis and the prostate gland of the adult albino rats following exposure to gamma irradiation and to clarify the possible cytoprotective effect of Curcumin on these organs when administrated before exposure to gamma irradiation.In this study, fifty adult male albjno• rats were used and ~lassi:fied into control (10 rats) and experimental (40 rats) groups. The experimental animals were subdivided into two equal subgroups.
