Abstract
The aim of this study was to improve growth, yield and oil characteristics of caraway population by using two cycles of mass selection the seeda were obtained from the medical aromatic plants department,Horticulture reseasrch institute, Agriculture research center, ministry of agriculture,Egypt. Caraway seeds were sown on 4th of November 2006/2007,(base population C) when the plants reach the maturity stage every plant was harvested individually. The seeds of twenty three individual plants have been selected after they air-dried on basis of phenoyype of these plants(fruit yield/plant, oil percentage and oil yeild/plant). the volattile oil of seeds was determined by hydro-distillation).
