Abstract The present study is an attempt to make some clarification of the inter- relationship between the distribution of certain metabolites in desert plants and their ecology, by analyzing a number of different growth forms collected from various habitats at different phonological phases. The growth forms selected were Asphodel us microcarpus CA. ’mi.) (Perennial herb), Anabasis articulate shrub), Arthrocnemum glaucoma (A. gl.) (Halophytic shrub), Gymnocarpos decandrum (G. de.) (sub-shrub), Thymelaea hirsute CT hi.) (Shrub) and Catania dichotomy (c. di.) (Annual herb). |
