Abstract

This thesis is interested in making a simple review for the scenes of goddess Nut in the temples until the end of the Graeco-Roman Period in order to understand her different forms, titles and roles. The thesis begins with the 1st chapter which includes the figures of Nut’s names in the temples and also her role as a heavenly and a funerary goddess. The 2ndchapter shows the different aspects of Nut in the temples of the 1st and 2nd Upper Egyptian Nomes, which are Bigeh, Wadi es-Seboua, Philae, Kom-Ombo, Kalabsha and Edfu. The 3rd chapter contains Nut’s scenes in the temples of the 4th Upper Egyptian Nome. It includes Armant, Madinet Habu, Karnak, Deir el-Bahari, Ramesseum, Deir el-Medina, and, Deir Chelouit. The 4thchapter includes the goddess’ scenes in the temples of the 5th, 6th and 8th Upper Egyptian Nomes. The last chapter shows her scenes in the temples of the Oases.
