Abstract There are many forms of rheumatic manifestations that occur in leprosy. these include: arthritis, ENL with and without arthritis, swollen hands syndrome, enthesopathy , raynaud’s phenomenon ,anaesthetic erythematous butterfly facial rash, sclerodermic-like skin induration, dermatomyositis-like leprosy, vasculitis and recently antiphospholipid syndrome have been reported in leprosy patients. the present study showed the importance of full history and clinical examination for all leprotic patients to detect any rheumatic manifestation even if they are out of patient’s complaint> serial X-ray examination of feet and hands should be done to observe any radiological changes which may occur even in patients under treatment. |
