Abstract
Congenital anomalies of the male genital system in human frequently occur and of multiple types. Some of them are common, others are rare. The danger of these anomalies is that they can occur with other congenital anomalies.
Cryptorchidism is considered one of the most important anomalies of the testis. It may arrest in the abdomen, retroperitoneal or in the inguinal canal. It also may deviate from its normal pathway of descend, where it may found in the medial side of the thigh, dorsal to the penis or cross to the opposite side. Polyorchidism is another anomaly in which there is more than two testes in the scrotum.
Congenital anomalies of the vas deferense are rare, they include unilateral or bilateral agenesis of the vas.They may be associated with cystic fibrosis. As regards congenital anomalies of the inguinal canal, inguinal hernia considers one of the most common anomalies , it may be unilateral or bilateral and may occurs at any time of age.
Some of the congenital anomalies of the male external genitalia are common as hypospadias, others are rare as agenesis of the penis, duplication of the penis, penile torsion, penile curvature, epispadias and penoscrotal transposition. Also, micropenis or megalopenis may be present.
