Abstract
This study was conducted on 30 patients complaining of tattoo at different parts of the body with different skin complexions ranging from III and II Fitzpatrick type.
In our study, the patients were treated by Q switched Nd:YAG Laser with the following parameters :
Wave length : 1064 nm
Energy : up to 2 Joules
Pulse duration : 10 ns pulse
Our results showed after an average of 4 treatments excellent degree of improvement of tattoos on the face better than other sites, also black and blue-black colors show better results than other colors.
Amateur tattoos show better results than professional tattoos. Most patients showed no changes in skin pigment or texture after treatment.
Q switched Nd:YAG showed good results and we recommend further studies to evaluate this technique to remove tattoo.
CONCLUSION
Q switched Nd:YAG is a safe and reliable method for treatment of tattoos in dark skin Egyptian people especially with amateur dark tattoos and can be recommended as a method of treatment.
