Abstract

Csarean birth is now the most commonly performed surgical procedure in ob tetrics. 1t denotes the delivery of the uterine contents namely: fetu . placenta, and membranes through an incision in the anterior abdominal wall and uterine wall. Increasing caesarean birth rates are a major public health concern throughout the world. During the past decade, cesarean birth rates have risen dramatically reaching more than 50% in some regions of the world. In re ponse to this growing surgical phenomenon, quality of immediate post- cesarean nursing care is mandatory to prevent and decrease maternal complications associated with cesarean birth. In addition, the role of maternity nurse i vital in improving maternal health. ursing care during the immediate postpartum period focuses on maintaining physiologic stability, promoting comfort, facilitating return to normal activity levels, and supporting the establishment of sound relationship within the family. So the aim of the study wes :-: To assess the quality of immediate postpartum nursing care provided to women after cesarean section in Tanta city. To fulfill the study aim:-The study was conducted among all the available nurses who were
working at Tanta university and EI- Menshawy hospitals. The total number was 38 nurses (30 nurses from Tanta university hospital and 8 nurses from EI- Menshawy hospital), in addition to random sample of 114 post-cesarean women fulfilling the inclusive criteria for each nurse.
